Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in South America Q1 2023

The first quarter of 2023 saw varied performances among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in South America. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active user trends.

Uber - Request a ride had strong weekly downloads, starting at around 571K at the end of December and gradually declining to approximately 395K by the end of March. Weekly active users for the app showed a fluctuating yet overall positive trend, peaking at around 19.8M in mid-February before settling to approximately 18.3M by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a steady performance in weekly downloads, beginning at around 409K and ending the quarter at approximately 362K. The app’s weekly active users also showed a consistent pattern, starting at around 8.2M and closing at roughly 7.9M.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a declining trend in weekly downloads, from about 267K at the start of the year to around 147K by the end of March. However, weekly active users showed a stable trend, maintaining around 1.7M to 1.8M throughout the quarter.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a consistent weekly download trend, starting at approximately 153K and ending at around 133K. Weekly active users for DiDi Rider started at around 3.1M and saw a slight increase, peaking at about 3.3M by the end of March.

Cabify had relatively stable weekly downloads, beginning at around 157K and ending the quarter at approximately 96K. The app’s weekly active users showed minor fluctuations but overall remained steady, starting at around 1.2M and closing at roughly 1.0M.
